The geoinformatics based system of implementation of Forest Rights Act 2006 in Maharashtra developed by me was acknowledged as BEST PRACTICE by Department of administrative reforms & public grievance, Government of India.It finds a place on its website on ‘Governance Knowledge Center’.

Have been invited as resource person/ expert by various State governments, GOI organizations, educational institutions/and Non-Government organizations to address stakeholders and students on the application of Geoinformatics in forestry sector and good governance.(More than 60 lectures)

Received E.P.Gee Prize for Wildlife in the IFC, Dehradun in 1982.

Received Letter of Appreciation from the Government of Maharashtra for innovative handling of Naxalite problem in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra as Dy. Conservator of Forests in 1991-1992.

Received Brandis Award in 2006 for my article on ‘Forest Management Certification   System – A Working Plan’s Perspective’ in the India Forester.
